Strengthening Communities,
Saving Lives
OPHCD is dedicated to promoting health, education, and community development across Afghanistan through sustainable and evidence-based interventions.
Our Core Values
Accountability & Transparency
We answer to the communities we serve and to our partners with open reporting, independent internal audit, and transparent use of every resource entrusted to us.
Honesty & Integrity
We act with complete honesty toward communities, partners, and donors, upholding ethical standards in every interaction and decision.
People-Centeredness
Every program is designed around the dignity, needs, and voices of the people we work with especially women, children, and marginalized groups.
Performance Excellence
We hold ourselves to the highest technical and managerial standards, validated by independent assessments including UNICEF's "Low Risk" rating.
Committed to Positive Change
OPHCD strives for the well-being of the people of Afghanistan by promoting health and nutrition, education, water and sanitation (WASH), protection and human rights, economic stability, and the sustainable development of communities — in an equitable manner, with a focus on women, children, people who use drugs, internally displaced persons, and other marginalized groups.
Empowered communities with sustainable, self-reliant health, social, and economic stability.
- Expand access to quality health and nutrition services through BPHS/EPHS facilities, community health posts, and mobile teams in underserved provinces.
- Strengthen child survival and maternal health via immunization, malnutrition prevention and treatment, and early childhood development programs.
- Advance community-based education, bringing classes to out-of-school children — especially girls — in remote areas.
- Protect the rights and dignity of the most vulnerable, including women, children, IDPs, and people who use drugs.
- Build local capacity and self-reliance so communities can sustain their own health, social, and economic development.
